`Ladies and gentlemen, please introduce the President of the United States and Mrs. Trump,` the host shouted, starting the turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House, but it didn’t seem to dispel the quieter atmosphere than before.
In the following speech, Trump, still in his usual style, began praising the Dow Jones industrial index for the first time surpassing 30,000 points.
Trump talked about the tradition of pardoning turkeys on the Thanksgiving dinner table that dates back to the time of President Abraham Lincoln, was restored under President George HW Bush in 1989 and is maintained to this day.
Trump said this year’s two turkeys, Corn and Cob, were chosen from a large flock of 30 birds.
Trump also mentioned America’s love for farmers.

Guardian commentator David Smith said Trump’s message sounded like a weak plea from a leader about to leave office, when President-elect Biden has long made it clear that he will never pursue the `policy` policy.
What Trump did not mention in his short speech at this year’s ceremony were the usual sarcasm aimed at his predecessor Obama’s administration or Trump-style jokes.
During the 2018 pardon ceremony, he joked about the online vote on which turkey would be pardoned, or last year, President Trump joked about his own impeachment investigation.
Earlier that same day, like an effort to save the halo, Trump retweeted a photo of himself brooding at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, White House, with the comment: `I do not admit defeat to anything.`

While Trump left, reporters continuously asked the question, `Mr. President, will you pardon yourself?`, or `Will you invite President-elect Biden to the White House?`.
No answer was given, which is unusual for Trump.
