`The Ministry of Health directed Ha Tien to set up a field hospital with a high-level emergency area in situations where the epidemic spreads and there are serious cases that need to be treated on the spot,` Mr. Long said when inspecting prevention work.
Cho Ray Hospital will coordinate with localities to develop plans to establish treatment areas that can receive serious to very serious patients.
In addition to setting up a field hospital, Minister Long asked Kien Giang province’s leaders to build a large, fast and secure testing system in case the epidemic spreads.
Kien Giang is a province bordering Cambodia – an area with a strong outbreak, with more than 56 km of land and sea borders, and more than 145 large and small islands.
Minister Long directed the health sector to prepare scenarios for worse situations, including a plan to set up a field hospital.
