After more than 10 days of the Miss Universe 2015 final night, MC Steve Harvey decided to speak out about his mistake when mistakenly announcing Miss Colombia – Ariadna Gutierrez – as the winner instead of naming Pia Wurtzbach – the winner.
Steve Harvey spoke out for the first time after the finale mistake.
In the first Steve Harvey Morning Show radio program of the new year, the MC shared with his listeners about what happened on and off stage, causing him to mistake the 1st runner-up for Miss.
Steve Harvey said that according to schedule, he did not have to attend the press conference after the final night, but because of the incident, he decided to go there to apologize.
The veteran MC recalled the moment the winner was announced, no one knew the final result except the organizers, judges and Steve Harvey.
The contestants present on stage began to discover mistakes when the teleprompter continued to display the words: `Miss Philippines, take your first steps as Miss Universe 2015`.
