In early 2016, Khanh Ly returned to Hanoi to organize the charity music night Bend Down So Close.
On this occasion, Khanh Ly shared with VnExpress about her life one year without her husband.
– How has your life changed in the past year?
– Many things happended.
– In just a few days it will be the first anniversary of your husband’s death.
– Of course I think about my house the most.
My husband wants me to do a lot of charity and religious work.

– When he was alive, Mr. Hoang Doan always closely reminded her about what to eat and what to wear.
– He often told me to wear one color, not too bright.
All those reminders from you only make me miss more, feel more sad but don’t dare say anything.
– What do you do to relieve loneliness?
– I write.
I’m not a lonely person.
Husband is just a part.

– How is your daily life now?
– It’s still a day like any other.
Buddhism says that birth is a sign, death is a rule.
In the past, when my father passed away, I could not absorb the pain.
The saddest thing is that when we understand, there is no one left to talk to, no chance to talk anymore.
Khanh Ly held her husband’s ashes when she returned to Vietnam for the ceremony in April 2015.
– She shared that every time she returns to Vietnam, she brings her husband’s ashes with her.
– I brought my husband’s ashes with me because he was the one who arranged and worried about me returning to Vietnam to sing.
– Recently, she often returns to Vietnam.
– Now that I’m here, what will my descendants in America do?
